Oldham based D Swindells and son, working in Royton Oldham roofing repairs, replacing broken slates in various parts of the roof, and also taking off ridge tiles cleaning off then re-bedding in fresh sand and cement.
First job of the day no not a brew, but get stuck in as the weather at this time of year can change, and we don’t want to get caught out. Taking out the broken slates and replacing with new, but as not to look unsightly moving slates round the roof like a puzzle, so a small area now out of eyesight now have new slates, and where broken ones were have been matched up with existing old, so it all looks the same, you will see in a picture where the group of new slates now sit out of eye sight.
Next job is to re-pointed the ridges that were removed earlier and cleaned of old mortar, and now looking fresh and tidy re-pointed back in sand and cement
